Winterreise

Inspiration

Listening to and studying Schubert’s Winterreise has been a life changing experience for me. For some time I thought about trying to write some comprehensive book that would collect all of the different information I had found about the cycle in one place. However, the variety of media, and the fact that mostly I would be republishing other people’s works made that idea impossible. Then it occured to me: “A blog is a perfect place to index content from across the internet!”

The Blog

My goal is to have this blog update about every three days. Even though it is a narrow subject, there does not seem to be a shortage of interesting things being written or recorded about the cycle, so I doubt that this will present a problem. In fact, getting to know one great piece of art in all it’s minute detail, can be a very rewarding experience.
